NZ Stonerfest is the leading underground festival for sludge, doom, stoner rock, psychedelic, avant-garde, and other variations of leftfield sonic pleasure.
Auckland's Whammy Bar and Wine Cellar will again host the 2012 double stage event, with adjoining venues opening up as one. The back courtyard hosting the ritualistic Stonerfest free BBQ and merch alley.

No South Island announcement yet.... Dux wouldn't let me book a Friday or Saturday as he only takes on shows that will pull 500+ on weekend nights...having venue monopoly and what not...

Yeah, its a bit of a trek. With the overheads of having a large amount of bands it would be easier with a venue thats central. Put that on top of last year being a pain in the ass with a 'boycott' because I didn't put a certian band on the bill...think CHCH will be on ice until next December when more venues have hopefully popped up.
Watch grab a seat and come to Northern Lights for a mean night!

Massive lineup. Gutted for no SI date. Looking Glass will be tank. Fkn loved them last time I saw them!
Did you hit up The Foundry? (Canterbury Uni bar)
They might be keen for something on the off season.
If they screwed their nose up about not having any UC affiliation, MetalSoc or some other joint could probably help you out ?
Gonna have to put some pennies aside to try get up to Auckland this year. These gigs are always awesome.
