Been releasing stuff since 1997, I have evey thing they ever released, including a signed fanclub only edition of the moondragon EP and the Dripping Silver Heat EP. Much to my sadness they split up a few years ago, but Ive actually been in email contact with Raff Icurto who says it's not impossible for them to play again.

I count them as amoungst a handful of the best stoner bands ever. Its a shame there's not more songs on the myspace as they have a good range of sounds.

As yet I am to meet any body in person who has even heard of them, which astounds me!

My old band played with them a lot. They were fuckin amazing on a good night. They supported Hawkwind in 2001 i think it was.
The recorded stuff is essential

Saw near every gig of there's before they split. The sound was always mind blowing but visually they were a bit bland, more a concert than a gig but still they are among me favorite altime SR bands. The stuff legend is made of.

Dose anyone know the status of Andrew Mckenzie, he did the spoken word on the first album. One of the world's trully nice guys.

No idea, but I found out that Raff Icurto is running a second hand guitar shop, and I got touch with him through that by email. I can give you the guitar website if you like, can't remember it right now though it was a while ago Sad

MacKenzie is still around, but keeps a much lower profile these days. Not many gigs happening over here though these days. Probably still paying off High Beam debts hahahaha!

I rate them amoungst a handful of my favourite bands ever.

Discography:
Dripping Silver Heat (EP) (self release) 1997
Lunar Mountain Sunrise (EP) (Highbeam) 1999
Emerald Liquid Odyssey (LP) (Highbeam) 2000
Sojourn Lucid Magic (LP) (Highbeam) 2002

Singles:
Moon Dragon (single) (Highbeam) 2001
Rockin' Course (single) (Highbeam) 2001
Modulator (single) (Highbeam) 2002

They split around 2002-3 Sad

Three of them briefly formed a band in 2004 called ROADS (remnants of a dying star) and released one self titled EP.

That's the last we've heard of them.

thank you for the kind words, test eagle! It's Andrew here.
Some great memories with the Thumlock lads, being in the studio for the 2 albums, getting the spoken word intro to 'Emerald Liquid Odyssey' down on the first take!, supporting Hawkwind, even jamming with them!
Definately some of my favourite releases we put out on HighBeam...
fun times, ah well...

Ha Ha dude, you did the voice! amazing! I was wondering if any thumlockians would ever sign up on this forum! Jamming with Hawkwind, what an honour! Are you in any bands now?

cheers mate, I meant to say in my earlier post jamming with THUMLOCK (not Hawkwind), my mistake, sorry! But even roadying for Hawkwind was amazing, really nice bunch of blokes!
I haven't kept in touch with the Thumlock lads for ages, Raff's in Sydney somewhere, Wayne & Greg are in Melbourne & I believe Ben may be back from overseas, dunno for sure...

For any Thumlock fans out there interested, Raff Icurto owns the http://www.thirdhandcollectibles.com/ guitar store.

Still saddens me to think we'll never hear them again, they were so good Crying or Very sad

Thumlock have just added an unreleased track to their myspace - is there life in them yet?
