This is a hot topic on other forums I lurk at, so here goes...
Got around to WOLVERINE last night... and glad I did! I was worried it'd be one of those "effects are everything, fuck a good storyline" kinda movie but it had some substance to it and kept me interested all the way through. Some outstanding fight scenes I might add. Totally over the top of course! _________________ Hello, I'm The Doctor...

Slumdog Millionare such a danny boyle film but fails on some levels in comparison to his others but brave! can see why people love it, very well executed but thats sounds clinical wampa, hollywodd can rely take a buttplug up the a-hole though specially during recession time, they need a real kick up the arse, i've seen betta docos that never ever get seen due to distribution burying(which r still really easily seen if u know they exist) and i'm not one of those hippys who shoves shit down ya throat, just point in the right direction then its up to you as it were, i won't leave ya hangin
Frost/Nixon, enjoyable from my point of view but its all been said by kid's on ths st's, best thing about it is the the actor who performed nixon, i'd have to say um brilliant, good movie but i'd have to say hollywood has it'a head up it ass x 2 even if enjoyable _________________ Music, Surf, Travel |

Død snø (Dead Snow):
Fucking brilliant / 10. Cheesy Norwegian horror - basically, a group of friends on a skiing excursion inadvertently awaken a horde of Nazi zombies. Won't spoil it, but if you're cool (i.e. if you enjoyed Evil Dead / Army of Darkness or any b-horror films), you'll fucking love this... |

Shit I gotta get my hands on that.
Oooh, speaking of Norwegian movies - "The Bothersome Man" is another recently viewed flick that I really dug... I'll let the trailer explain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMRs6ogq8LU _________________ Hello, I'm The Doctor...

Apocalypse Now: Redux
Some of the added scenes that I noticed actually detract from the film...one scene where they arrive at this checkpoint that's in disarray for some reason, and has the Playboy helicopter just randomly landed there (and this is way upriver) so they all conveniently have sex with the Playboy bunnies. Sure, it's a surreal film about a surreal war, but that is just...too implausible. I can see why it was cut from the original. There's also a pretty long scene (maybe 10-15 minutes) added where the crew arrive at a French homestead. It's a lull in the action but it gives some insight into imperialism in Vietnam and the French and American mentalities, which is cool and lacking in the original.
But I mean, it's a director's cut...showing the stuff that was cut out is the whole point so can't complain really. Probably not worth bothering with overall though. _________________ 666 heilz Saturn. |
