And the "Calvaclades" that they did, that threw me.
Watched Hamburger Hill lastnight, going through a few war movies. War sucks, but damn it makes cool movies |

That AIDS patient zero sketch was soo wrong, but I laughed. The whole thing was a bit hit and miss but I really appreciated the good parts, like the Bob Dylan one. _________________ ... dopesmoke violates my tomb and awakens me... |

watched Let The Right One In just now after Jon mentioning it a while ago. Brilliant, the swimming pool scene is amazing, what an ending.
If you dug Pan's Labirynth watch this one. _________________ New Zealand www.stonerdoom.co.nz compilation volume 1 available now >>HERE<< |

Heh, great scene.
I really wish they left in more about the bullying - it made the comeuppance at the end more satisfying. _________________ Hello, I'm The Doctor...

Wolfman Kinda cool, kinda goofy and kinda disappointing all at the same time. Gothic as hell with plenty of gore, great production design. Sad to say but Del Toro was the weakest link IMO, he was kinda monotone and mopey. Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving ruled it. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/dyingofthelightnz |

9. Biggest disappointment ever.
Looking at the posters and reading the leaflets I thought this movie would be quite interesting and quirky. Turns out they just took a bad movie script and adapted it for stitched up little men to try and make it excusable.
Little men are living in a post apocalyptic world. They aren't doing much.
Little men awaken a big bad machine that wants to kill them.
Little men destroy the machine.
Little men go back to doing jack in a desolate wasteland.

Seen that one, but that was about the only classic I'd seen. That and Deer Hunter |

Watchmen (Blu-Ray)
THAT was actually first 'proper' Blu-Ray movie I've seen (I realised I didn't have the HDMI cable required to view Rambo 4 in full resolution). I was already in love with that movie, but the sharper visuals and rich, uncompressed audio blew me away. You pick up so many more nuances in expressions, scenes, backgrounds, effects (etc).
I sound like a fucking advertisement. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/adriftfordays

I saw this tonight and thought Del Toro's performance, as a grieving brother (and grim Lon Chaney stand in, who was deadpan at the best of times) was pretty sweet. His "doomed from the outset", monotone, "mopey" vibe struck me as fitting the gloomy gothic styles. Didn't exactly have much to be happy about. Was stoked they could actually make the wolfman style werewolf brutal as. Insane asylum scenes were means. Campy werewolf fight was av. Disembowelments ftw. _________________ The Sect of Fuzz

Saw it again recently and enjoyed it more the second time. Still wish Del Toro didn't mumble as much. Agreed the asylum scenes are classic, especially the transformation infront of the assembled doctors. Rad.
Also just watched The Descent Part 2. Stupider and Gorier than the original with worse directing and way too much lighting for a movie set in caves. 2 of the original cast return but it's still pretty average. The cave monster people are still scary cool. If you haven't seen the original, check it out, it's great.
